They're the patent trolls we're trying to defend against. Are you also going to ask the NSA to protect people's privacy?

He said "They should have made IPv6 mandatory", as in, it cannot use IPv4. Obviously, "when connecting to the Internet is required" is implied, and having an always online console is irrelevant to his point.

Don't talk shit on Android. It is FOSS, therefore it respects your 4 freedoms, unlike iOS, which you cited. Agreed on Chrome OS. I'll stay with my cheap old Linux Thinkpad. My remote services run on my server at home anyway and th

If you have jailbroken your iPhone, use any of the many Cydia packages that do just that. If you haven't... why not?! On rooted Android, AdAway.

I think Evernote was also intended to solve this. Unfortunately, it is also proprietary. So, there is definitely demand for this.

Absolutely, this is an actual dealbreaker. If I can't tweak my blog, I'm not doing one. Then again, I suppose I'm not part of the intended audience.

Also, a lot of it is probably in the hands of a few early miners (including Satoshi) who are never using it, and some more has been lost forever.

Fun fact: back in 2005, France had a law proposal to ban all free software and VLC was under threat. http://www.fsffrance.org/news/article2005-11-25.en.html

Please consider switching back to FF, at least for the same reasons, if not for all the other ones (FOSS, no backdoors and so on). If you want the same look as Chrome, try the UX nightlies. Butter smooth too. Best browser ever.

Obviously, it's an approximation. I'm sure you could very easily fit everyone you know in either of these buckets if you had to. And it's pretty accurate.

At least they get to solve the problems. You can't do that with closed OSs. Same goes for the cloud vs. your own server.

I disagree, in the same way that I consider Firefox to be the best browser: because it is freely modifiable. So, you can make it the best for you , which is invaluable. The fact that some distros are great for most people out of the box is

And by that time, if you're right and people actually jump ship, they'll be using something else (either Windows 7 or Linux IMO) and will demand that at their company. So, Microsoft is taking enormous risks in all the markets: mob

You could come up with many examples of failed companies with devices based on Android. This may just mean that they did something wrong (bad devices, advertising, etc). However, the companies that were successful (e.g Samsung) prove him ri

Quora uses a massive amount of dark patterns. They are huge gaping assholes. I bet they even have a counter-UX engineer whose role is just to design users to enter as much info as possible and never leave the website.
