I'm an immigrant living in the UK, I have no such ID card. I have a driving licence and that's about it from stuff issued to me by the British government :)

Yes I understand that. 1 - Can the same not be achieved via VPN usage? 2 - Can TOR browsers not already access the BBC in the "clearnet"? 3 - Why do I, as a UK resident, have to provide money so that someone in Vietnam can access

I picked up a hitchiker about three weeks ago? It's not the norm for me (my wife hates it) but not that unusual. These aren't for mega journeys though. I live in a commuter town near a city so it's usually along that route.

Tbh I think the "easiest" single thing which would improve the UK immensely would be to ditch FPTP and bring in some type of PR voting.
