I don't think his point is to change the world. If his message resonates with only one kid that looks up to him, I'm sure it's worth it to him. That's all that matters. If everyone did this with the kids that look up to them, it has the pot

Why is that "shenanigans"? I've asked to be put on promotional pricing many times as an existing user of other companies and you know what... they often give it to me. Why? Because I'm free to give my money to someone else. It's a way of sh

Is this how it works? I have a web app that keeps inventory of your physical book collection (not really). My users would like to use their iPhone as a bar-code scanner to add new books to their inventory. I don't want to create a native ap

"Phono is a simple JQuery plugin and JavaScript SDK [...]" It's using Flash but it's still a jQuery plugin. Perhaps incomplete but not inaccurate.

The alpha for jQuery Mobile should be out tomorrow. It aims to solve this problem. Are you using any mobile libraries/frameworks (other than the mentioned iScroll)?

It's clear that none of these services have quite figured out how to best price their service but it seems that CheddarGetter is the only reasonably priced option. Why is it that they seem to be perceived as also-rans? With Chargify, you'd

Most blogs make this difficult by not having an easily-discoverable link back to the main site. They link back to the root of the blog and maybe have a link back to the main site hidden away somewhere, which takes more time to find than edi

A little off topic but I expect this to go well with jQuery Mobile. Can we expect any updates there? Been a bit disappointed by the relative quiet since the announcement (not that you owe me anything). Also, is there any publicly available

The down vote was me. It was accidental but as you know, I couldn't reverse it and I thought it would correct itself so I didn't bother responding. I actually don't disagree with the advice. It's a method I plan to use on an MVP that I'm wo

Reminds me of the Pop Copy skit on Chappelle's Show: "If a customer has a computer disk then look at it and tell them it's the wrong format. If they use Apple, tell them we're PC. If they use PC, tell them we're Apple. And if they've got bo

I recall there being some talk about taking over some closing prisons in Michigan in the last year or so. They would save significantly less in Michigan so is that more of a capacity measure than cost savings?

Yeah, I should have mentioned that for many use cases, this would effectively be a price decrease. I was just expecting a drop for SMS when I first read the headline.

While really nice, this is more fine-grained pricing and not so much "slashing prices". Anyone that takes incoming calls and then makes a subsequent outgoing segment or anyone that sends/receives SMSs will pay the same as before.

I've used MythTV on and off for years but what will impress me is interoperability. I want to be able to hook this into my current set-top-box and for it to work seamlessly. They seem to have that with Dish Network.
