I'm with you. I know Comcast had their very basic TV service for something less than $15 at some point. I don't know if they still do. Basic cable for live things (sports mostly) and Boxee for everything else is perfect for me. I talked to

I recalled immediately that it was Budweiser and I haven't seen it in years. I wasn't even old enough to legally drink when they originally aired. My memory (usually block it out to begin with) in recalling brands from commercials is terrib

Agreed. I often find myself checking the comments on stories that I don't really have much of an interest in because I can be quite confident that I'll find a brilliant comment or two.

There may not be much left as it is now but I can say without question that I would rather find a way to maintain the community without the submissions than to have submissions without community (or a community of lower quality).

I wish you wouldn't have done so. I came across a comment you made recently and something made me interested in hearing more about you. I can't remember what it was. Sure, telling stories about what you've done for others is great but that

I always look at this from a slightly different angle. I look at the unhappy millionaire and think that he must have problems that are a major burden on him. It doesn't matter what those problems are or what we as outsiders think of those p

Our difficulties often may be imaginary but that doesn't make them any less difficult or easy to let go. Just because our difficulties may not be as bad as another's or may be easier to overcome does not mean that the burden we feel is any

Would be nice to see Ann Arbor get it. There is support from the city and the University of Michigan. Maybe Larry Page could influence this decision and give back to the state and university where he started. I think it would be good choice

I don't think you're being intentionally deceptive. It just needs to be more clear that the tweet will be sent for the user.

To be fair, it does clearly say that you must send out a tweet to be eligible. I didn't go through the process so I don't know if it made it clear that it would do that for you.

I really like the idea but I have to agree that the survey does seem "scammy". If I didn't come across this on HN, I wouldn't even consider getting involved. As it is, I might do it if I remember in the next couple days.

Time is the major factor for me. The issues I have with air travel are nothing more than minor inconveniences. It's really not that bad. Sure, the comfort of a train is nice but in no way comes close to the convenience of an airplane. The e

It's interested that you look at it this way because I don't. I've always looked for product ideas like his that can bring in some nice cash but aren't going to make you rich. They are everywhere. Before the wife, kids and mortgage show up,

Why would you do this? I only tolerate it on twitter because of the character limitations. Outside of such a restriction, URL shorteners just get in the way and I find their use quite obnoxious.

Thank you, Andrew. The interviews are inspiring but I have to say I'm inspired most seeing the work you put into Mixergy. You could slack and maybe not do an interview everyday but you do it because that's what you want Mixergy to be. That'

I saw him speak in Chicago at the CEO conference a couple years ago. He spoke then about political aspirations. Perhaps we'll see a trend with people like him and Steven Welch, who was on Mixergy today. Not only is he successful, he seems c

You would want it for the same reason you would want it for any other language. "upload and go" is a convenience feature of Heroku, not it's reason for existence. It does make it easier to deploy Ruby apps but, again, it's not the reason it

Is this really a concern for more than a very small fraction of the population? I can understand this concern for very high-end fashion but it just doesn't make any sense to me otherwise.

I don't think the concept of Costco is so much "bigger is better" but rather saving by buying in quantity and reducing stops at the store. If you have the space and don't actually enjoy shopping, it makes sense. (I don't shop there)
