In France, if I am mot mistaken, you can legally have an account at the Banque de France. People go there when they got kicked from regular banks, like after having signed checks without having the money. Banque de France has become an heur

Interesting pick from one of the links in the article: "SQLite has fantastic write performance as well. By default SQLite uses database-level locking (minimal concurrency), and there is an “out of the box” option to enable WAL mode to

You may reuse some concepts I have described for an audio adblock: https://www.adblockradio.com/blog/2018/11/15/designing-audio... More precisely, audio spectral preprocessing then neural network such as

The ML algo of Adblock Radio could be used to bypass those video ads. The case of radio ads is a typical example of server-side ad injection. https://www.adblockradio.com https://github.com/adblockradio/adbl

Also, this gives a way to entities who control the payments control who can send emails. Might be a concern in authoritarian regimes. Weren't there a project with proof of work?

Smarter, less disruptive move: block research and put all Facebook apps in some kind of security sandbox with the sole intent to slow down the experience.

I think such statement is hazardous. What if you need to build maps for all the world? What if you want to go to Mars? What if you want to build a payment system? Small actors could not do that.

IANAL but in Europe, for such streams to be legal you need to use them in reach of the Hertzian signals of TVs. See about VCast for example. https://www.nextinpact.com/news/105549-lextension-copie-priv...

Here is a gross example to make my point. Imagine, when buying your groceries, you had to pay half cash, half by prostituting yourself. Nobody would want that. Though, prostitution is a valid funding model, as sex workers earn a living with

It's a pity in my opinion. But I understand magazine business is hard and you cannot give an alternative ad free format, more expensive, in kiosks.
