Turning off the desktop is one of the first things I do when setting up a new Mac. I still use ~/Desktop often enough that it's one of two folders I keep in the Dock (the other being ~/Downloads). Although: the introduction o

How was the latency when you last tried it? Most outboard audio interfaces (even inexpensive ones like the Focusrite Scarletts with ≤ 2 inputs) have a "direct monitor" feature that is as close to zero-latency as you can reasonably

I'm also super interested in this! I've had many amusing moments of instinctively typing either `pbcopy` or `pbpaste` on remote boxes followed by a brief moment of confusion when my local clipboard isn't updated :)

Interested if you've got a write-up somewhere of the multicast issues you tracked down and fixed as I'm currently in a nearly-identical predicament with my home network, except I'm using mikroTik hardware instead of Unifi (ev

This is a complex issue, no way around it, and I'm not an expert in the field. My thought in response to this is to consider the way coal, oil, copper, uranium, silicon, [...] shape human activity and culture. More specifically, I wond

While I don't think this necessarily has to be looked at thru a "sad" lense, what came to mind to me was the social isolation part of the equation. It's kind of tragic that we (if I may speak on behalf of the USA) find o

This is good news to me. I gave Thunderbird another go just last week, as I wanted a way to reliably get my email OUT of MS Office (work), Proton, Gmail, etc. so I could have a local copy in a format (or formats) that I choose. After I down

I wonder if we swapped out "greatest" for "most successful", if that would/could be a true statement. Or, of course, what criteria we could even agree could substantiate the claim.
