What would I miss if went all transfomers without spaCy? I don't get the idea of a wrapper API through spaCy. I'd like to be as close as possible to the core transformers API without any intermediate layers. Nothing against spaC

OT: I want to get into transformers for NLP, what's the best way? About me: Mostly done TS the last years. Dipped into Python, a bit pandas, a bit numpy, a bit Kaggle for the last 3-4 weeks. Why I ask: It's so easy to get lost, th

Why are people upvoting this? Serious question. An easy and proprietary deploy layer isn't anything new. Docker makes it already quite easy to deploy anything, either to a single machine with docker-compose or k8s for multiple nodes. F

I have to agree. Vimium is better than nothing but most of the time it feels like a subpar GUI editor with bolted-on vim binds that sometimes work.

Slightly OT: Will GPT-3 itself will have any impact IRL? I ask because of its lacking options/competition on the hosting side (there's just Azure). This implies high prices hindering most use cases to break even/be profitable

The most underrated thing we might get with multiple app stores: Devs do not need anymore XCode or a Mac to develop for iOS since Apple couldn't enforce any specific runtime or proprietary tool-chains anymore. I have an extra Macbook l

It's not about medical software but about how big the lock-in is (which is always higher with B2B). The higher the lock-in the worse the overall UX.

Yeah but in contrast the idea isn't new, Cloud9 did this ages ago. Github has the advantage that they own a huge dev focused platform. My point is if you deal a bit with code, even as a founder who writes strategy papers all day long,

Just skimmed the comments and missed the rise of typed languages, especially TS with its excellent tool-chain. Sometimes I just code with vim and coc.vim (which brings VSCode's LSP to vim) for hours without ever running tsc. The live t

That's not the point here. It's about that a thin CJS wrapper to an ESM module isn't possible but the way around is.

But how do you solve it in a tsc context? Using the default prop doesn't work in tsc and breaks all type information because tsc just doesn't know of any default prop.
