Thanks for the response. 30M - wow! Well, at least shared runtimes are possible per their release/roadmap document. Hopefully future runtimes will be backward compatible so that it can 'update over' instead of install side-by-side.

I read through the Architecture doc and it explains how they do it. However I cannot get an idea of how large the mono runtime on Android would be. Any ideas? For small apps, the runtime could be the largest part of the app since the 'calla

I enjoy stories like this. - Iteration of a product to continuously improve the system while reducing costs. - Realizing that a users choice can make the system more efficient (using lower wattage cfl bulbs) and acting on that. - Second d

What would be the impact on movie theaters? I am looking at this from the perspective of the simple 2D (non 3D) projection system. I assume if they have a modern digital 2D playback system this may not be a problem. However, what if they ha

A few latency issues... or is it just tutorial related sluggishness or is it representative of Mongos' CAP tradeoffs? I guess 'eventually consistent' kicked in by the second find query. If that is what really happened, it is really cool to

I could not solve the following problem from the article. Suppose that 40% of the eggs are painted blue, 5/13 of the eggs containing pearls are painted blue, and 20% of the eggs are both empty and painted red. What is the probability that

Talcum powder makes an effective deodorant in my opinion. Much better than the slide on gels in the market. However it lasts only for about 8-10 hours.

I suffered from this. I have a couple of ideas that I did not think much of, only to have it (or a facsimile) go IPO/public about a year later to much fanfare. I still remember my "private payments between friends" idea which came along bef

Need some clarification... if your impression is that you could continue to manage the company's technology and team, what would be the purpose/title of the ringer? A title of Director of Technology should not worry you at all. To the major

If they go down this path, there is an opportunity for a new app store (say HackStore) with perhaps 85/15 terms for a pricing split. There is still the initial problem of boot strapping/enabling/legitimizing HackStore on the users desktop.

Is Dutch required for your job? To use that as an asset you may have to justify that need to the immigration folks. Couple the need for Dutch with a job specification that requires experience but leaves out the degree requirement and that m

With lawyer fees and immigration fees, the application itself would come to about 5K. Your salary would need to be equal to or greater than what the Department Of Labor says is the average for your job title in your workplace location. The
