Different techniques work well depending on your current level. Immersion always helps, and for me recently that meant diving into reading online news articles in French, which really helped with expressions, idioms, and jokes. I tried a fe

Good stuff, but maybe it would be nice to do a mini tutorial in the blog post itself. I only like PDFs if I'm going to spend 20m+ reading something.

We've been using myfax.com for $10/month and it works the same way. Hasn't failed us once in many years, but kind of pricy. Maybe worth considering a cheaper alternative.

Is it easy to "Yo" back someone if they're not in your contacts? On the android app I don't see how to do that. Also, the security of this seems questionable. There are other, more interesting uses of the yo API: https:

I built a simple nodejs-based proxy that's meant to sit in front of a world exposed solr instance: https://github.com/dergachev/solr-security-proxy/ Perhaps it could be adapted to the elasticsearch scenario.

Nice, thanks for sharing this! Also, I'm exploring simpler alternatives to oauth2 for command-line acccess to the Google Drive SDK, and your password approach is interesting. My current use case is extracting the HTML from a Google Doc

Looks pretty slick. For a recent project, I ended up building a 100 line Makefile, and fig could have covered about 70% of that. That said, Makefile are good to have around

Hmm this replaces Vagrant (which I know and like) with a custom script ( https://raw.github.com/steeve/boot2docker/master/boot2docker ) which I have to learn. Also running docker on a non-ubuntu host means you&

Seriously. If this company was surprised to discover the use of cron for the malware, imagine what kind of stuff they might have missed. Here's a particularly creative technique I recently came across: https://gist.github.c

For me what makes it really interesting is the realization that all of linear regression (think y = mx + b) is based on linear algebra, specifically the notion that figuring out a best-fit line (in the case of a single-dimensional input var

OVH actually supports running the Proxmox virtualization distro on their servers. That means you can easily get a 32GB dedicated server with raid1 SSDs (around $100/month here in Canada) and spin up VMs to your heart's content. Pr
