Stop calling it a "walled garden". It's a "walled prison".

Do what we did to fight tabacco addiction? Combination of support and shaming?

Are you implying the heavily marketed alternative works better? Haha I missed more streets with their map program, their music store is more complicated, and their podcast app is more buggy. It's marketing.

Engineers aren't unionized. Physicians on the other hand are unionized in all but name.

We knocked down a 1930s depression house to put up a half million dollar home. My property tax is 5x my neighbors. Who's complaining? My neighbors who have fantastic schools and pay trivial taxes?

Swap all that with "big marketing budget" You can see how easy politicians can conquer minds, it's no surprise trillion dollar companies are able to sell anti consumer products at luxury pricing. "convenience" is ju

I do my part by using FOSS. My only sin is using Windows at work because it's what the Engineers use. My cellphone OS and web browser are FOSS. My personal and side project server is FOSS. I even used GIMP for 10+ years before finally

I don't see how medicine can cost less when the supply hasn't changed. Patents are the same. Residencies are the same. Hospitals are the same. Do you think the physician cartel is going to stop living in Mansions?

Walmart seems fantastic for customers, bad for employees and bad for suppliers. I wonder if every company was like this, what would happen to the world.

Yep. My cart looks different than most people's at Walmart. Fresh food, nothing frozen outside occasional vegetables. You can be a picture of health shopping at Walmart, just as you can be a danger to yourself shopping at whole foods.

Who pays the bills is not the problem in healthcare, it's a supply issue. The various medical cartels have lobbied to artificially decrease the supply of competitors, workers, and companies in the healthcare industry. Single payer heal

Given the medical industry is more than okay with going Full Evil, I'm happy to see Walmart knocking them down a notch in evil. If nothing else, this may cause something foreign to the medical industry- Competition.

I trust Walmart as a customer significantly more than the healthcare cartels. Benevolent? It's not exactly hard to be more benevolent than the medical establishment.

N95 masks were never useless and Fauci should be seen as a monster. What I don't understand is why there were no nations giving away n95 masks and education on how to wear it. It seems like we hivemind to the unsustainable lockdowns.

Start a new career, start an unrelated company, do non profit work, do research, etc... I imagine these people have money, so what's making potentially an extra 200k? You make that in a year.

Simple solution for me was to do a dopamine detox. This requires getting rid of things you enjoy, but that's somewhat the point. Instead of doing things you want, you are wasting time on things you don't. After giving up video gam

I would love a science based alternative to our current Authority based healthcare system. Cheaper, potentially better outcomes, less errors. That said, the physician cartel would never let it happen.
