I must've misunderstood your comment. I thought you were saying these pattern matching rules were basically souped up if's. Elixir has pattern matching on function level but it's also heavily ingrained in the whole philosophy

`switch boolValue` insists you do something with the false part, `if boolValue` does not. This is just looking at it from the most atomic level possible. If you have a group of booleans you get pretty complex lines of code. Switching on a t

It could be renamed "Things that suck about Java" and you wouldn't need to remove much. It's true that if-statements are something you might want to avoid in any language but Java doesn't give you as many ways to do

Perhaps Swift is a better to use as a cross-platform LLVM compiled language, as it is very close to Kotlin in terms of syntax and patterns. C++ is a huge language and has a ton of gotchas.

Actually I see a lot of people write x or @ instead of o. The x is the variety most sprayed on walls in political statements, the @ is used for stuff like birthday invites. Some people I know do it. To use x in an English text comes across

It's not exactly the same as railway programming as in Swift it's typically not used to connect functions together but rather to replace separate callbacks with one "result" function and to hard type certain results. One

The transistor count of an A11 is 4.3 million, the Ryzen has about 4.8 million depending on the type. And x86 is a bit wasteful in terms of what it does effectively with those transistors because the front-end required to translate x86 inst

JSON performance is super important for a server, far more than for the usual macOS or iOS clients. JSON parsing might be based on the basic JSON parser found in Swift, which isn't fast at all, rather easy to use and secure instead. It

It might as well be KVO under the hood, no problem. It's just that annotations can be really handy to indicate a ton of stuff that would otherwise be lines of code. I use it in other languages all of the time.

You don't understand the problem. It's the possibility of types versus the types declared. Swift will always try to go with the most exact type it can find. C doesn't have types. C is just a bunch of numbers. Swift always has

Still not as fast and probably Objective-C got a speed boost as well. Objective-C is a very simple language and types are quite explicit. In Swift you have implied types like: let result = jsonList.map { Class(from: $0) }.filter { $0.i

You would receive a README explaining how to get set up, what pattern was used and how the classes reflect to that. Like "*Fetcher is a static object used to fetch Model objects over the network". Should not be more than 200 lines
