I fully agree. Businesses can adapt or die. They shouldn't receive handouts because they're "job creators", and they certainly shouldn't be rewarded for having inefficient labour practices.

We're protecting jobs you see. People need jobs to survive, so we have to protect the jobs, not the people. By giving companies money.

I'm a strong believer in the right of people to cut their food as they see fit...but there's a real-world problem here. You know who else loves knives? Criminals and thugs, who use them to engage in larceny and assault.

I agree, "the rich" should be segmented from wider society so as not to induce social discord. Since one is clearly a highly productive individual to have earned such money, I have no doubt they will manage to look after their own

Use JSON and you lose type information, schemas, and relationships. Of course you can add all that back to JSON as many people have done in various ad-hoc ways. JSON is inferior to XML in every way except "I don't want to type ang

Back in my day we had a language for transferring data between systems in a human readable format and it even has typed schemas, and provided you're not reinventing the wheel, it's easy to work with programmatically too. XML is th

1. because that's how we've decided businesses work. 2. because the buck stops with the CEO. They are (ostensibly) responsible for the output/productivity of the entire organisation. How they achieve that is mostly irrelevant

Well that's actually much easier. CEOs are paid, by shareholders, for the return on investment they generate for said shareholders. The quality of their work is judged by the return on investment generated every 3 months.

I do my damn best to ensure that I am no more productive in the office than I am at home :) You can't use the stick to make people more productive/less lazy, unless you're watching them 8hrs a day 5 days a week.
