Please also note that they did not run Shor's algorithm to compute this. They had to greatly simplify the algorithm, so that it works specifically for the number '21'.

BTW, this is not a new issue. Crispin Glover sued Zemeckis for using his likeness in Back to the future II. Glover hated the ending of part I so much that he refused to take part in the sequels (well, he also thought he was underpaid). Back

Unfortunately, it is not that easy. First off, "contract law", apart from being incredibly complex, is also different depending on where you are located. Even within the US, we have seen different rulings on whether EULAs are enfo

Why has every external link on this site a "?ref=davidgomes.com"? What is the point of that? It's obviously done automatically, but it's kind of ridiculous.

For RAM, yes. Soldering it down right next to the CPU allows for lower voltages and faster bus speeds. For SSDs, it's more difficult. It surely makes no difference for standard PCIe, there's really no excuse to solder that one to

People forget that it is not just the processor that consumes power. The reason the new MacBooks are so efficient is not just because they are ARM-based, it is also because they have incredibly energy efficient screens, WiFi, RAM, SSDs, etc

Thanks. This was also requested for the UI 7 years ago https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-foss/-/issues/12776 and then closed with the claim that this was implemented, when in fact, it was not.

This looks super impressive, but at the same time, I'd really like to hear someone actually working in molecular biology what they think of this. While I am working in this field, I only deal with software, not molecular design and wet

For which products do you pay more than 100$ in license cost per month and developer? I only know prices like these for fairly specific niches, like development environments for very specific hardware/FPGA, or sophisticated physics sim

I always get a used phone (2-3 years old) that is officially supported by LineageOS. I've made good experiences with Motorola Moto G phones. A good alternative are Pixels or OnePlus. My current phone is a Motorola Moto G6 Plus, which w

A default LineageOS installation will not be rooted. There are really less and less reasons why you'd even want a rooted phone. The killer feature used to be ad-blocking, but most ad-blockers can work without root nowadays. The backup

You are right, this is another issue. With an unlocked bootloader, you'll not be able to fully pass SafetyNet, for instance. I've also seen some forum posts that this should be possible for Motorola Moto G phones, but there were s
