Whether an upgrade is worth it depends on your workload and how much you depend on it. All I can say is that if Zen5 would have brought the same improvement over Zen4 as Zen4 did over Zen3, I would definitely have considered upgrading. But

It's a terrible delay w.r.t. reviews, because all the reviews were done without these improvements. First impressions are very hard to fix, and Zen5 is already widely regarded as a flop, at least for desktop/gaming usage.

Quite unbelievable how AMD has botched the Zen5 release, especially since there was no need in rushing these CPUs out the door at all. Why couldn't they wait until these improvements were commonly available? Also, at least from initial

No, just because I find the default Google experience in Android annoying, and I don't see why they should know everything about me. Thanks to ublock, adaway and pi.hole I don't see ads anyway.

LineageOS with MicroG is really not much effort nowadays as long as you - get an officially supported phone with easily unlocked bootloader (which usually means: Pixel or OnePlus) - get the LineageOS&MicroG bundle from https:/

PSA for people with kids: Parental controls and QA in Spotify are a bad joke. I found out the hard way that Spotify features tons of videos and that you cannot disable them. See for instance https://open.spotify.com/episode&

Qwant Maps is discontinued, sadly. Features I would want most from a web frontend for OSM: * Smarter search in the local area that is currently focused, with possibility to search for generic terms like "atm", "bus stop"

The amount of data OSM has nowadays is a treasure. It's just a shame that there's no well done generic web frontend that would make all this data accessible in a way that could rival Google Maps. The official openstreetmap.org web

As someone who gets a ton of resumes from academia, I see these very often. The problem here is that they all look the same because everyone is using the 'moderncv' package. If you want to stand out, invest some time to create you

We fully agree: it's technically possible, but it's not practical and really only done by malware to skip the userland hooks set up by antivirus software.

That's nice and all, but as TFA already mentions, ssh has a large attack surface. The most critical one though is that you usually grant people access to a shell, so if an account gets breached, you need to worry about local root explo

I'm on vacation, so there goes that theory. We have 400 seats. You do the math, we started with 4$ and within 5 years the price got up to 30$. At some point you just have to question if it's still worth it, and for GitLab, that&#x

Cost of migration, especially all the pipelines and project planning. GitLab used to be a good deal. The bronze tier was 4$ and you had better CI than GitHub at the time. Then in 2021 they ditched bronze and went to the new three tier model
