Asking to be a regular maintainer for some Open Source project may be too much, but I expect an engineer to track down root causes of bugs. And if the root cause is in some Open Source lib, then they should do their best to fix it there. Ev

Yes if you use generics, no if you use trait objects (`dyn Trait`). These new features are implemented similarly to a hidden associated type and are not object-safe. There were some discussions about object safety, but it's a tough iss

I'm using Haxe actively today to preserve the very reason why Haxe exists. Haxe was created by Nicolas Cannasse, also known as warp. He was a software developer at french game studio Motion-Twin in the 2000's. At the time they wer

I see some replies pushing back against committing generating source code; but I generally agree with you. There's a principle to avoid committing generated code, but sometimes it makes sense. A few examples I had recently: - Parts of

Yes, TS now fully supports ESM so the watch mode works great. I'm not used to using it when working in Node, but other people I work with use it all the time.

With TS, I get type checking in the IDE; I don't need to rebuild every few seconds. When I actually need to build and test, it's very fast (<2 seconds). I use Yarn workspaces/subprojects and TypeScript references with incr

I always found it easier to avoid `ts-node` as it introduced a bunch of small compat issues. Since TS 4.5 and their support for `.mts`, I finally settled on just chaining `tsc --build && node ./build/main.mjs`.

Do you know if cat 8.2 is backwards compatible with cat 5/cat 6. In particular, can I use cat 8.2 with older devices (albeit at lower speeds)?

The main issue games on Linux games are invasive client-side anticheats. So I recommend making sure if it's really needed, and otherwise checking compat. On the graphics side, I believe that Vulkan is better supported than Direct X.

I can also vouch for Migadu. I've been using it for 6-7 years with 4 different domain names because they only charge for usage; not per domain or user. The few times when I contacted support they were also very helpful.

Yarn provides a "Plug'n'Play" mode implementing exactly this behavior. Dependencies are kept as compressed archives and a loader file is generated so Node can read them directly. If you start Node through Yarn (`yarn nod

Vaultwarden is a Rust implementation of the server for Bitwarden, a password manager. It was initially licensed with the GPLv3, and now switched to the AGPLv3. This was done after getting approval from contributors (see linked discussion).

Yarn does it with its Plug'n'Play (PnP) mode. It keeps dependencies archived, and computes a `pnp.cjs` file caching where to resolve dependencies for each package. It works transparently by using a virtual FS.
