Apparently one of the co-creators of the freddiew channel on youtube. They make really good videos, with film level cgi. https://www.youtube.com/user/freddiew/videos?view=0&flow=gri... Too bad they didn't

Elon musk explained many times how Dragon will land with helicopter precision. Currently it lands with precision of a few kilometers( because of the wind, they use parachutes ). They can do that because even on a symetrical capsule you can

How does this check for anything??: if ( size == 0 || size > SIZE_MAX ) {... size is not given a type, but if it is a size_t, then the comparison is constant and if statements is always false, unless size == 0. The second part is

Yeah I was wrong on that, he must have sizes 8 both. My compiler gives 5 and 8. Coincidentally I just read that specific paragraph earlier today for totally different reasons. :) Will have to recheck some code.

If your range is not too big( < 32768 ) and the divisor is constant you can do it with a single multiplication and a shift. More complicated method: http://www.hackersdelight.org/divcMore.pdf But the compiler will( shoul

Thank you for that. That surprised me. I thought( and read somewhere ) that the flexible array member comes right after the entire struct, which includes possible padding. OP got away with it since he always allocates the size of the entir

I wrote a test program in C, using the same functions as OP wrote. Compiled with maximum optimizations, the binarysearch() was 33% faster over the more complicated dualPivotBinarysearch(). I tested every element of the array, with array siz

It wouldn't happen concealed, this could be similar to a paywall, but you pay with your cpu( read:gpu ) time.

A trade of unused processing time for displaying the site content. I usually block every ad, but I this is something I would be ok with.

I was completely wrong on the velocity, mixed the types and didn't even think about the weird number. I should rely on wiki less.

Didn't think of that. In that case a specialized icbm would be better. As space-x shows you don't need wings to be accurate from orbit. Nasa should really drop this winged approach. They can't because they have experience and

I'm not an expert but I will state that x-37 in orbit doesn't have 23km/s delta-v. I think wiki for similar vehicles can confirm that: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delta-v_budget

Projectiles have to survive atmospheric reentry. Wiki says that modern icbms have a reentry speed of 4km/s, vs 28km/s for x-37.

Nasa, you can't call it reusable if only the payload( read as: the shuttle ) makes it back.

Unsafe code( pointers ), shows and example of a copy, where a byte* is casted to a int* and then dereferenced. Such operation in c produces undefined behavior( even if byte points to data large enough ). Safe or not, does c# consider such d

That is a horrible mentality. I don't see how the game has anything to do with it. If a person is capable of physically retaliating to a complete stranger over a game of pong, that person is mentally ill and has serious problem existin

I don't think you can make a permanent magnet any stronger as it is. There is a certain limit. I think the size matters in this case. I can only find thin pipes for plumbing online, but I would really like the think one.

Where can you buy something like that. A magnet is around 150$, but I have no idea where to get a copper tube of that thickness.

That is different from my experience. If an automatic system that replaces a human is adopted, it has to be almost perfect in the eyes of the public and regulators. For example; plane autopilot is more reliable that the pilot, yet we still

There is a argument against such help, because the drivers will learn to rely solely on the warnings and stop properly monitoring the road. As soon as the system fails, accidents will start to happen.

Startups are looking for people with as much free time and energy as possible. And the older one gets the more probable it is that they have a family, and cannot sustain a heavy schedule. So younger people are hired on average more often. I

Read the biographies of Steve and Steve; Jobs was not an expert, but was familiar with technology of that era. His father taught him electronics, and Jobs was working at Atari as an technician.
