Not, years, months; assuming a couple of decent comments per day, with a couple of points per answer( my definition of a couple is ~ 2-4 here ).

It would spend all it's time and resources in order to even slightly decrease the probability of a human coming to harm. You are assuming there are no thresholds, which is not correct for any decent ( fictitious )ai, I believe.

In the books the robots adhered to the laws strictly. The problem was that humans were able to circumvent the laws rather easily. For example; lie to the robot or divide the murder trough many robots each unaware of each other. In absence o

Looks like the internal state of the numbers that actually decide what can be merged is changed when you press a key. Also works if you hold it down, which is a bug I think. Just hold down one direction to observe.

Why then don't geniuses come from third world countries. Improved standard of living will help that, not pure numbers.

That is a bad analogy. Unlike software, building take time, people and material resources to build and cost magnitudes more, yet windows can be installed/upgraded in an hour. Microsoft already issued a patch( not that they didn't

I can think of Kindle as a physical device that comes with ads until you pay more money. Surely there is potential in this approach for other home appliances.

When I first read Ubik I though their economy is unrealistic. How do the appliances and doors that charge for usage make sense? It makes an interesting replacement for the warranty in the item contract. Pay the toll, and the item is kept co

Undoubtfully the number is really large, but I'm not sure what exactly you mean by cube Planck lengths. A comparison to atoms would be more clear. Still, it wouldn't have to. Since most arrays would have pieces with lower numbers
