Packaging systems that are not language specific were created to solve this exact problem. Making the switch is a sensible decision that has nothing to do with Rubygems. Your project is maturing which is great. There's no need to throw the

Congrats on the launch. I run a monitoring service that's built on top of PhantomJS. Happy to chat anytime about the tech or what I've learned about the business. It would help to have a clear call to action from the homepage. One thing to

If the situation were reversed, the dialogue would be mainly about the injustice of an established company ripping off the design. It probably doesn't matter much for a weekend project though.

A large part of meetups and conferences is the culture that they foster. Non-partisan venues are more appropriate because the venue plays such a large role in that (regardless of intent). Besides the obvious impact of alienating some portio

The quality and compatibility of Open Office has improved a lot since it's inception. So what you're advocating is a sliding scale of value which is reasonable. What you have not included is the TCO for MS Office which includes a lot of the

Thanks, hadn't seen that one yet. Looks good. You just need an SSL cert. If you google "SSL cert" and click Godaddy's ad, you can get one for $13/year (instead of $50+). Namecheap has good deals too.

That's how Maven works but to a fault. The huge dependency repo tends to bog down deployments/releases. Today I use bundler but my solution back in the (java) day was to separate code releases from dependency releases (separate directories

You raise a good point. I'm not against encryption in the browser as a rule but it does open up a whole new can of worms. Our approach is to be just good enough for most usecases.

Setting up GPG isn't hard but it's also not always the right tool for the job. It's a lot to ask for someone to copy and paste a GPG encrypted message when you just want to send a private link to a (non-technical) client or when you just do

Congrats on the MVP. I don't usually watch videos until I have an idea what the product is so I kept scrolling and finally saw the "Easy as 1-2-3" graphic. That made a lot more sense to me. I'd suggest putting that before the videos.
