This python script is communicating with the bitcoin program (the one available from the bitcoin website which is running in headless mode) via JSON-RPC. It's asking the program which is communicating with all the other nodes for work, perf

You could always spawn off your own chain. Like with most things, including the gold rush, people struck it early and are likely to profit if it takes off. But there isn't anything stopping you from grabbing a pick axe and mining yourself.

They have to get ahead of the chain and then out compute the rest of the grid of "honest" nodes. I believe currently all clients will just accept the current block chain with the most amount of work on it. So if they can drown out everyone

There is no they who release new blocks, every X number of blocks (2 weeks on average) all nodes recalculate the difficulty level of the next stint to attempt to keep the growth around the expected curve (a new block every 10 minutes). So i

A number of employees within RSA do sign their emails. But there is this weird issue where you can only setup email signatures if you're a full time employee of RSA, not a contractor. But most do sign their emails. What surprises me is Pois

You must work at the same company I do! Imgur isn't blocked for some reason. Speaking of which, what is the legality of your corporation injecting fake SSL certificates for sites served over HTTPS?

It depends on what was compromised if anything. There could be a possibility of source code leakage which may have an overlooked implementation flaw. Or there could have been some malicious injection in source, or even tools. If I recall co

I don't doubt you can implement that functionality, if you were the browser. But from the specs of Websocket currently in the browser, you cannot.

With the current spec, how would you listen for connections?

In the WebSocket spec, it only exists to open a connection to a url on a port, there is nothing about listening to a port for connections. You could open a connection to a server which can relay other websockets data, but you can't open a c

I don't believe you can open a websocket directly to another user. At least without the use of a server relayer.

I believe it's all constant growth, spike aren't indicating the growth, just a spike in growth. If that makes any sense. So if it's flat for example it's 100/day, if it's going up it's probably a spike over an average day, say 200/day for t

Maybe moving to Sydney is something I should look into, theres the occasional meetup (ruby, node communities (in a library :P)) but that's all there seems to be. Brisbane is rather dull in many ways.
