Anybody remember TermKit[0]? This was my first thought when I saw "JS/HTML/CSS Terminal". It was built on WebKit (five years ago, before the everything-in-JS craze really began) and had a lot of really promising features

This is absolutely right. And I'd definitely much rather be able to do dangerous things if I want to, than be told that I need to be protected from them. I do appreciate that rm -rf requires "--no-preserve-root" for that extr

I'm actually building a note-taking webapp based around Markdown! I was wondering what features you found lacking or wish you had with your setup? (and if you'd like to try it out feel free to dm me)

As a Go developer, I'm curious. Why is it that whenever a project built in Go is submitted to HN, the title mentions that it's built in Go? What makes the language special that it's worth mentioning?

I've picked out the following that I like: - Gorp[1] for SQL stuff (I like that it "encourages" your program data structure to reflect your DB structure) - amber[2] for templating - gorilla/mux[3] for routing - gorilla&#

For what it's worth, I moved to node.js late and even then only reluctantly. I only used it for one project, and found it to be a somewhat difficult experience, like I was fighting the language all the time. (It was still a step up fro

Started using Go for my latest project (a successor to Evernote). It feels like such a relief, especially having just come out of a node.js project. It's everything I wanted in a (web-app) programming language, and for the first time I

If any country has a chance at implementing nuclear power on a widespread scale, I think it's China. In America, the primary reason we don't use nuclear power is driven primarily by the negative perception and fear of the word &qu
