Yes, my mistake, thanks for pointing out, upvoting. I meant asking memory allocator, not kernel. I meant that Java usually already has that memory allocated, JVM is a memory allocator of its own. It operates within its own heap. One can do

I've seen worse. Some teams use JSON for their data. Not only each field can be missing (aka NULL), it can also be "null". Or a different type. I envy your team who's only mistake is to forget setting NULLABLE. Rainbows

No, where did you get that? They can "No comments" all the way, but there's no way to legally forcing a commercial company to lie. The company can lie, of course, but it's their choice, not an order.

Sometimes just voting is not enough. For example, Nazi Party didn't come to power democratically. Hitler lost 1932 elections to Hindenburg, and didn't get any position. But in two months, Hindenburg appointed him to Chancellor pos

Browsers layout engines are pretty smart, and also optimized for speed at the same time, which makes them very complex. I can do one or the other in my code, but both is too hard. Now add there security. But Google having more people workin

Just wrap it in a container with fixed height and "overflow: hidden". Now the layout engine knows that it doesn't need to recalculate positions of elements outside that wrapper, and it's much faster. By the way, the same

Yes, although fascism is probably a proper word to use here -- it comes from Roman "fasces", symbolizes power to punish king's subjects (i.e. it's not about other states and kings, but about internal affairs).

Hard disagree. Few points I can easily remember: 1. Navigating the code, e.g easily see all the callers, navigate up/down the call tree requires static code analysis. Super handy while reading someone's else code, which is like 90

Reminds me of modern IDEs -- developers, both old and new, are too lazy to learn a complex IDE to speed up their work, even though it's their main tool for making money.

Well, weighing scale doesn't measure mass, it measures weight. It's just scales' UI converts it to kg/lb for usability, instead of showing N it actually measures (weight is a force, and force is measured in newtons).
