You'll be chasing that feeling forever, friend..... about all you can do is go buy some old amiga gear and/or emulate and play your old games and whatnot. That magic you remember was a combination of the times, place, market, and age of co

If a patent is transferrable in some form, and has some value, then there will be a market for it - one can hardly fault someone for exploiting this to commercial advantage. The patent system itself is broken..... let's fix that...

I'm not sure anyone really ever considered an inside user on a wifi network, however it's encrypted, any different than a user on a regular wired lan... you can sniff their traffic and spoof arp, and all that wonderful stuff.... being on th

Hypocrite has nothing to do with it. He's free, as a developer, to create derived works from GPL code, and nobody else is free to claim ownership of his work but him. He can use the stuff he created all he wants. What he's not free to do i

Plus, you can't get smaller blocks allocated even w hen you need them.... I have a legitimate need for an independent /24 that I can BGP route around to a few datacenters. ARIN says I can only apply for a /22 at the smallest. People are

This is especially useful when dealing with directories with too many files in them - say around a million files. Regular globbing won't work, and most regular tools won't work - but tar works great. Also - another trick is to give it -c b

So are you suggesting that a fundamental property of any workable currency system is the ability for the government to track and control where every unit of currency goes and how it is used?

I think the real lesson in here is that the key is the deployment tools - or rather the fact that you need to spend time setting those up as an integral part of your workflow - it's not something to do "some day later". This can be as simpl

You should absolutely learn C - you don't need to be an expert, but you should fully grasp the use of pointers and memory allocation, and how the compiler really works (intermediate stages and all that). This, for the same reason you should
