I've been working through git immersion the past few days and it's definitely helped a lot. Short exercises to teach basic things.

As far as I know it's the ISP which has a cache of it, so I just download from the local server.

Speaking from Australia, I'll assume that at least iinet will have it on their cap-less servers to download. For example most major Steam games are and don't count against the cap.

There was an episode of QI where this was mentioned (can't find the video now). It basically said the "happiest" countries (as best you can measure it) were the ones with the lowest income inequalities (like Nordic countries).

Less important of an issue, but about the main image with the text "Cardnap finds the cheapest gift cards for your favourite stores". I'm probably being pedantic, but the text slightly clashes with the background... I thought a 3-4px white

When you say for memberships, shouldn't you mean charge for comments? It wouldn't affect the site much if I could still sign in, save threads, set procrast etc. Which would still be useful to many users.

Agree with the poker analogy. I played a single player poker game and just went all in repeatedly because I could just restart anyway. In the same way I can upvote everyone in this thread even though many wouldn't deserve it.

I think he's trying to say Chernobyl was an outlier, a faulty design which melted down under completely outrageous circumstances, and due to today's safety standards it won't happen again. Therefore Chernobyl can't really be used to say nuc

I'm wondering too. On https://www.google.com/accounts/ManageAccount , it says: > You don't yet have a public profile. Learn more Create a profile or edit your personal info without creating a public profile. I have no idea if I'm mean

To add to this, consider how the Big Picture does it, probably "suited" to a gallery but it's all in one big page.

I see things like what you say, that "they just need to start trying" and it makes it seem like if I said "I could just start training to be an athlete, and in a couple of years I'd probably win [whatever]". They haven't really done anythin

http://www.sudoku-solutions.com/ I used this. Knew the basics of Sudoku but eh, bit tedious to try and actually work it out for me.

Not only have prices gone up, but exposure and merchandise etc (for the team) have increased in modern times, leading to more money as a whole for the team, and therefore star players.

Regarding Everydns.net, the impression I got was they withdrew their service not because of any specific disagreement with Wikileaks, but because it was negatively impacting their other customers (if 10,000 people kept requesting Wikileaks,

I visited Grooveshark just yesterday, and I just thought it was a flash rewrite. I did like the theme a lot , but the only sad part was my playlist was gone >:( (didn't have an account, it was just saved as cookie or whatever)

I just have to say, since I don't know if you want the robot for the utility, or to just say you built one, but it'll probably be cheaper to hire a maid :P

I like this idea actually. I'm getting better at it after being forced into it in a way after getting frustrated with a few clients. Feature creep and all that fun stuff

The thing that bugs me is the "As Written About By.." bit. This is more for any site that does it and not yours in particular. But it just has a bunch of logos there, I can't read what they said about it either. You could put any logo there

Travian's been around a while. And I believe the Ultima game is Lord of Ultima [.com]? Played it for a bit, was an ok timesink but eventually I grew out of it since I mostly used it as a Sim City type game.

ForumGlance: Had a similar idea just the other day, although mine was mostly to watch to buy some cheap things/bid on auctions etc. Probably since I'd handpick the forums it'd be easier to tailor the parser though.
