what if the corruption only affected the stored checksum, but not the data itself?

You can charge for the source code too, just not separately. But you can definitely have an opensource project that is not available free of charge from any official source. Your clients can redistribute for free or not, but you are not r

If it is actually under an open source license then you are correct. They can charge for the right to download it from their servers but they cant stop someone from then redistributing it. Anybody redistributing could also charge if they

Modern drug laws came about in the 1970s, at the height of hippies on psychedelics trying to overthrow the government. People in power fear losing their power, and they saw these drugs as a threat. The weirdest part of the whole thing to me

I think Gutfeld is number 1 overall, and has been for a while. But TV ratings overall are down so low, I haven’t had cable since 2003, and at the time people thought I was a radical. Now it seems like the people that have cable are the rar

ok I may have exaggerated, but there are quite a bit of people silently writing and maintaining mission critical code in Fortran, Lisp, Cobal, Perl, Pascal, R, Assembly, the different BASICs, Lua, TCL, Erlang, and the list goes on. Plus tho

And I think that's where the reasoning behind only allowing one line lambdas came from. I believe I read a thread a long time ago where GVR didn't even want to include lambdas at all, if I have time I might look for it and edit

I find it incredibly intuitive and useful that it does that. sometimes it drives me nuts that it doesn't do it for comprehensions but I can see why. But if something fails in a loop running in the repl or jupyter I already have access

This makes a lot of sense, I got to a similar conclusion in my other reply. I always thought the appeal of functional programming was more about test-ability and concurrency, it never occurred to me that people actually preferred the syntax

by dec0dedab0de 1y ago
Honestly, I don't really see the appeal of unnamed functions in general. I so rarely use lambdas that I wouldn't really miss them if they were gone. Just occasionally as a sort key, or in a comprehension. I have seen people do t
