I had ever-worsening input lag issues on my daily-driver ubuntu-based laptop for a couple of years. I tried a bunch of finnicky things, with very little benefit. Then I switched to xanmod kernel. It was like I had an entirely new machine. I

When I feel this way, I think about how many films about filmmakers and books about writers I've experienced. It doesn't really help, but I do think about it :)

Two things that helped me early in my career: - Going to open-source libraries I was relatively familiar with, looking at commit #1, and then moving forward in time. (This works best when the project started on GitHub, rather than the first

On the topic of "I hope the future will be like Star Trek, but I’m afraid it’s going to be like Babylon 5," the very first episodes of TNG loosely tell the story of what Earth was like from, say, 2000-2200. It was very bad. So, ev
