The problem here is that you are erasing history. Imagine someone going into the town square and yelling something profane. That can never be unheard, people will never forget. There will be record of it. Twitter is the only authority that

At this point TypeScript is pretty boring tech, and using it on the back-end is an extra compilation step - with the benefits that brings. And it's easy to say use "boring tech", and in some cases it might call for it, but wh

For those looking into this more the term used is BIR. British Indian Restaurants. There’s plenty of folks online doing their best to share the secrets of the British curry house. One such is Dan Toombs (The Curry Guy). Essentially the majo

This is such an obvious thing now that I see it. Great idea and execution. One might argue this should be a feature available natively, and a valid use-case for face-detection other than identification and tagging.

I didn't fully grep the article, but assuming the src is public and hardware is trivially built - I wouldn't put it past someone packaging this up and selling it. It doesn't need a huge number of people to be bad enough PR fo

This is the same approach as night shifts for nurses. There’s a lot of evidence to suggest that the effects on this infrequent but consistent disturbance to their circadian rhythms causes all kinds of physiological damage. One example [1].

My FB feed is essentially zero content (500+ friends mostly over 25). It’s an aggregator nowadays of group discussions and primarily page content, even pages I don’t follow. Nobody but boomers use it to share nowadays.

I worked on an a service that did this to prevent unauthorised distribution of something we sold in zip files. You can add a lot of identifiable data to pretty much any file format if you try hard enough.

I'm afraid we'll have to agree to disagree on this one Scott, on a philosophical level. We have companies like pullrequest.com monetizing code quality (currently only private but I presume they'll enter the OSS market at some

One of these at least is a native feature of vscode now (rainbow brackets) so I’d consider this post to be of low quality. If you ran even half of these last it’d really slow vscode down too.
