What does it mean for the AI bubble to pop? Everyone stops using AI en masse and we go back to the old ways? Cloud based AI no longer becomes an available product?

This list is ridiculous, I was expecting something like A* pathfinding, or even kernel extensions.

We could market books as movies by marketing them as long consistent prompts. Moviebooks.

Sometimes I want to write more creatively, but then worry I’ll be accused of being an LLM. So I dumb it down. Remove the colorful language. Conform.

I’m skeptical. From what I’ve lived through, it seems like power always finds a way to consolidate in perpetuity. The best we can hope for is that those with the most power have our interests at heart.

Why pay for LLM when you can just do it easily for free? The end goal is to get rid of all frontends anyway, just have apps that you interact with through LLM prompts. A more advanced command line.

If you really know SQL, writing an SQL query basically just feels like writing a prompt for a database client anyway, except it does exactly what you ask for.

I think this is mostly a frontend sentiment. In the backend, we're mostly just pushing data around from one place to another. Not much changes, there's only a few ways to really do that. Your data structures change, but ultimately

This is the biblically accurate version. In heaven the body has no more purpose than the clothes people wear, so the bodies should just drop dead empty of souls. However, a more terrifying interpretation could be that the bodies have no rea

Where the hell was all this fear when the push for open source everything got fully underway? When entire websites were being spawned and scaffolded with just a couple lines of code? Do we not remember all those impressive tech demos of dev

Here's the business model in a nutshell: If you want AI to recommend your business for some purpose, you must pay to have it included in the training corpus. And you will pay fees every time those vectors get used for outputs. And if y

IRC is far superior than Slack when it comes to RAM usage. Projects should just switch to that.

I think it will be a good thing actually. Engineers, no longer having the luxury of assuming that users have high end system specs, will be forced to actually write fast and efficient software. No more bloated programs eating up RAM for no

Why wouldn’t you ban clever people? Isn’t the point to let all players have a fairly equal chance? Someone’s going to win the money regardless, so it’s not like you’re saving money. If the same data savvy people are just going to win most o

I feel like AI has the possibility to make people the angriest they’ve ever been, and the angriest they will ever be, it is hard to imagine a technology that could make people even more furious than something like an AI. It is peak rage.

Most people thinking aging is something that happens to other people, but that they will always pass for 20 something. Then they get offended when you correctly guess their age in the late 30s or 40s.
