The whole 'online' thing is the soft entry into the OS war by Google by the means of diminishing of the role of the OS: the OS is like a bootloader for the browser. Browser takes the responsibility of the OS shell and main applica

So make these apps work on Linux. They go instead inventing VMs and hypervisors to extend their walled gardens.

I don't think that flying like a bird is simpler than walking like a human. Flying like a quadcopter is more like walking like a cart.

Just let the distributions maintainers do their job. That's how you get a quality user-centered software distribution.

I know that cars is the most probable cause of sudden death/injury so I wouldn't do that. How can you 'unintentionally' pull out a phone? I'd probably be looking at the road all the time, but just freeze at that mom

It works fine in Firefox (send and receive) as long as you don't need to play on multiple output devices. Currently you can enable a feature flag, use enumerateDevices() and play audio files on specific devices, but you can't hook

Still pretty bad. Firefox can't freely select audio devices per stream. Chrome has some kind of unbeatable adaptation that makes latency fluctuate.

It's very slow. It was immediately standing out in our automated tests when we've added a json protocol to our system and used jq to test some assertions.

All the government projects I worked on, they had lost of contractors with proprietary software interconnecting between each other.

A typical FOSS has already a lot of customizability. Yes, they want to have a lot of specific stuff, but it isn't that dramatic.

I've written some proprietary code and I know that my competitor contractors have written a similar thing. I don't know whether it's the way to 'create more jobs'. GPL frees individual developers from the companies.

Well, they've noticed how GPL is bad for their EEE strategy, so they've grasped the first occasion to fight it: can't do much with the code that is GPLv2, but can hinder the license update.

You say "no 10x return", "reselling for tiny profit" and then "UK didn't care and didn't know what they had". What do you mean by that?

The fear of GPLv3 is just an excuse to pull things into proprietary. They became aware of the success of GPL and started to actively lobby against it with what they were able to come up with.
