Yahoo! Pipes for web scraping. Don't have to write a line of code, just a GUI that can even do complex things. There's a lot of information out there that should be freed.

Facebook is way more powerful for surveillance because it's a centralized network of people you are connected to and information about yourself. Connections are explicit and easier to track and store and once it's in Facebook it's in forev

It's crazy how many people on Twitter specifically are using Wikipedia EN right now. Spelling errors and profanity aside, Congresspeople should just do this search to see the effect of their bill.

Exactly. I don't keep up with Wordpress too much, but my perception is that you should go with something like Drupal (or other proprietary options) if you want a platform fully capable of being a CMS. That said, any CMS will struggle with

I'm almost in the exact place, but my friends on FB use it for invitations and I would totally be left out of events if I closed my account. The problem is that FB just makes invitations so easy. I suppose it could be done still over email
