Lessig seems to be too in love with the idea to the point that he doesn't realize that the execution is what matters. He would've been better off organizing people to get one or more of the legit Dem candidates to promise to work

I remember in elementary school the popular kids passed around a survey in which they ranked every student in our grade based on some nebulous combination of attractiveness, coolness, etc. This will probably not be that much different.

I tried Sublevel when it started, but wasn't getting much out of it. I posted a lot, followed a bunch of strangers and tried to have conversations with them. Eventually I stopped checking it at all and forgot about it. I think the peop

Google's Keep was the Evernote killer for me. It loads faster and I can start a note or list quicker. Trello fills the other gaps to the point that Evernote is just an archive of notes that I rarely have to consult.

The screen stuff has been legit but two things were funny: 1. Eliot, an elite hacker, has a Excel 2014 book in his apartment. Why does he need to use Excel so much? Why does he need Excel at all if he's using Linux? And why would he ne

Yet Google has its problems too: younger generations are using social networks to discover content online. AI assistants like Siri are going to become more prevalent and people will more often go to them for answers instead of a search box.

I don't know why people do this. I guess it gives off the feeling of it being very important like they are rushed and HAVE TO TELL YOU THIS RIGHT NOW. But it's not shareable unless you're going to retweet 40+ tweets (are peop

If you work for a big tech company, try to partner with the startups doing interesting work in your domain. When they run out of money you can scoop up their IP (and maybe team?) for cheap.

There are EHR vendors involved including some of the big players (Epic, Cerner). Ultimately adoption won't be from vendors "doing the right thing" but because their customers and/or the govt. (via $$$ incentives) create

Yes and no. Libraries like jQuery and Underscore are often the basis of new frameworks and have been solid for a while now. Like in other languages there's some wait and see to adoption. Going all in on a project that's been on Gi

If these JavaScript developers are so gullible to the newest thing it says more about them than the hype cycle. It's not just that the language sucks in some ways but that the users of it possess so little engineering rigor that they c

Couldn't agree more. A middleware layer that exposes something like FIHR would be great but there systemic issues within this generation of EHRs that need to be sorted out too. The EHR must be more than the billing tool it is now.
