The PlayDate is actually pretty terrible. I got one as a gift so I didn't even have to pay the absurd price for it. The game selection is very poor and the crank gimmick is lame. In general there is no reason for me to mess with it and

I worry about the ongoing ratcheting of the arms races that AI creates. It's nice that we have better tools to detect problems, but those tools are also readily available to bad actors and they will run their attempted fraud through th

Actually they do. Not individually one by one themselves but they outsourced this to their distro maintainers which do a spectacular job. I'll take a properly curated package in flatpak Fedora repos over a random script downloaded and

I think the difference here is that Reddit wasn't bought at a retail location and you couldn't just return it to the store and get your money back. People can and SHOULD return this garbage to the retail store the minute they get

Most of the time the reason isn't nefarious, but rather that people aren't interested in (a) doing the versioning work as they implement things bit by bit and (b) exposing their "draft" copy work while they are still try

Not any more than any other payment processor. They basically all are lazy and want to reduce fraud, which is insanely out of hand. They attempt to do this by not doing much review, most of which is heavily automated and the end result is w

I did say it wrong, but my point was that the site doesn't segment off each "site" into a different subdomain or any other ruleset that would allow the same origin policy to restrict access. As it is with this site, the messa

In this exact context it's likely not a problem, but essentially this is a ready to go XSS attack. As far as I can tell there is no CORS or domain level protections, so an "attacker" here could easily do anything else with an

I have done this on Linux where my different WINE prefixes (like the ones managed by Bottles) can have different configurations. My gaming profile for example has none of the libraries or fonts needed to run Photoshop, etc.

I guess now is a fun time to describe my cheap backup process. All of this is related to Linux and the backups are fully encrypted client-side. Under the hood `borgbackup` is used, but I use the PikaBackup app (see Flathub) to make it easie

Most of the businesses that want to run Red hat compatible Linux probably don't care about any of that stuff. They just want to run Linux and have it be essentially as difficult to maintain as their landscaping or electricity.
