After reading this, I feel like I can say I don't have a very active inner monologue at all really. I haven't given much thought to this; like the article mentions, I just kind of assumed everyone was like this. It would explain s

Either I hadn't gotten to the point where that was explicitly stated, missed it, or I didn't connect it myself (highly likely, ha). Still working my way through #5. I did get that the golden path was basically a kind of progession

I was thinking about this recently while reading the fourth book in the series and you put my thoughts into words tidily. Tangentially, I also think the time gap between the third and fourth books (some 3,500 years) necessitated some more c

I do this for my personal site and email server. Just SSH into some instance, pull master, and run the server. Anything that gets modified or maintained more than once in a blue moon greatly benefits from some kind of process though.

This is awesome, it's such a shame they don't make this available anymore. The act of flying has plenty of great public data, but sadly the charts are bit anachronistic in that sense.

I truly believe aviation, mostly general, is one of the things the U.S. does best, by far. I have no idea if other countries have these kinds of charts available to the public, printed or digitally (I assume many do) but combined with the r

I don't think it needs to be confrontational to say "no" when it's not required by law. In the US we have been led to believe that it's confrontational to stand up for your rights to police (e.g. to deny IDing yours

I don't agree with the last point and I think this thread is evidence of that. We cannot make sense of the myriad of bills we get from all the different providers, particularly since many or all of them are also being dealt with by our

The pilot on my flight to Vegas said the cost to advertise (or do whatever, I assume) was $470,000/minute. I didn't verify the claim but it isn't too hard to believe and is pretty crazy, even if it's remotely true.
