The only three events that could send bitcoin to $0 are, in my opinion, if people stop using it and decide that it's worthless, the encryption scheme or peer to peer network are some how compromised, or all nations simultaneously outla

You are absolutely correct on the price they get for them being dependent on how they are sold. The industry jargon for this is how you execute the buy or sell. One option is they could sell the bitcoins using a VWAP algorithm. http:/

Probably. To understand price changes it's important to consider how they change. Price movements occur as a result of a buyer or seller aggressing into a market and submitting an order such that the parameters of the aggressor's

This actually makes a lot of sense to me (someone from an urban area). I never understood why all these towns in the middle of nowhere USA would offer such generous subsidies but this line of reasoning perfectly justifies it. I suspect the

You can subpoena ISP's to see who owned an address (I believe) up to 6 months back. How exactly do you think the RIAA filed so many lawsuits against internet pirates?

I'm thinking about FX where I work. If the price you get executed at is better than what you wanted your term currency amount changes. Often times what ends up happening is that some someone upstream (e.g. broker) ends up keeping the i

It really depends on what asset class you are trading, like the author mentioned. For equities the performance demands are out of control (< 50 micros). For FX, it's still pretty tight but much more manageable.
