I think I'd use it as a reminder for time/task management to boost the daily performance and productivity, not for information capturing.

Unfortunately, this the reality. There are very few exceptions for the startups being acquired. So if you are shooting for to be sold, you'd better to prepare for this outcome. Otherwise, go by yourself, like snapchat and dropbox.

Yeah, I like to see the original website url too. Even if we redirect users to the search result sites, we don't track by the url, but track by number of hits and number of subscriptions as the performance indicators.

I agree with you and 0x0 below. But is the number of query keywords so critical which cannot be released to the owner? I remember that it was shown to everybody when we type keywords and I think that's helpful information to users and

Looks like one simple change to hashmap may not be the best answer. May I draw the conclusion from your case like that? The best score now went up to almost 3000. I couldn't imagine how many possible ways out there and one of them coul

I'm not sure what you mean about "many simple problem". Is this one of the example for that? I'm trying to compare the two alternative solutions for this problem: 1) Hashmap 2) string index which is better? I think about

Thank you for your information. Do you mean in Silicon Valley, VCs are rarely get preferred stocks from the startup company? But why are they offering convertible notes which to me is more risk for the startup companies than the VCs?

I don't look down on teenagers if they are able to build websites using those languages. Maybe this type of exercise is really good or suit for them. And definitely coding is the no. 1 skill they occupy. What I'm talking to are th

I'm curious how people can put down vote on my comments. According to the guide line from HN, down vote is only available for people who have enough karmas. BTW, if you are not happy to hear that, I'd like to know your opinion.

Yes, agreed. I was sort of mislead or implied. It'd be better if CFT can give out the problem description followed by the sample code or don't give any sample code at all. For me, it makes more sense to receive the detailed inform

Good point. It really depends on the size of the data set. If the size of the input data set m << dictionary data size n, it's a worth trying for caching. Otherwise, the input word list should be loaded into LinkedList instead of

Yes, I thought about exactly the same way you explained. But my point is trying to save more time, which may or may not be necessary depending on the size of the input data set. If we use caching, we can save the trip to look up the hashmap

Thank you for giving out the Big O. Now I did the search and found that hash map is O(n) or O(1) here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1055243/is-a-java-hashmap... But I couldn't agree with you about O(n+m

Nice catch. I should eliminate the sorting on the input words anyways, but save the duplicates in the neighbors, i.e. cache the previous ones. It does not affect the Big O level I mentioned in sorting of the word list loaded from the file.

The CTF does not give a description of the problem, but the code instead. And it persuades the new users not to change algorithm too much, just save a few steps, which implies to have minor changes of the code only. Look at my another comme
