Why would that be a reasonable response to this policy? It largely seems childish, and reactionary, in the face of a policy that is (clearly!) intended to improve the world.

It works quite well too. As I understand it, SQLServer itself is effectively running on top of its own "OS" like layer (even on windows), so porting cleanly was made significantly easier.

With git, people are confusing intuitive with simple; once you build up a good mental model for it, you can be very effective. Prior that is painful.

To coin the classic HN approach, isn't this just Mechanical Turk + a bank account? Being less reductionist, you could possibly bootstrap the chicken/egg issue of getting task executors / task creators by proxying tasks off Me

Your advice is on point; I would find this resume very difficult to skim (and very easy to skip), need to treat it like a landing page, and distil the important parts.

If you read the page carefully, they will waive the fee for anyone that uses the link. Assumption is they will be generally pushing this out via marketing channels that target women. Regardless, its a very nice thing for them to do!

If you created some directories to test, you can delete them with bash (whatever git installs works). It does create nested directories, so you need to do: rmdir .../.../ rmdir .../

Thats a bit unfair; copyright is a fairly unintuitive concept if you haven't been exposed to it.

It isn't. Its just the noisy people tend to be the most visible. The vast majority of vegans (including myself) just want to find good food.

Generally, a redback is fairly unpleasant, but doesn't require a trip to the hospital (for a healthy adult), so its unlikely to be fatal in most cases anyway (thankfully!). Funnel-webs are terrifying.

I think it was more likely meant re. the original (incorrect) interpretation that github had left public access to memcache instances.

I think in 4.6.1 (maybe 4.6), the default was set to TLS1.2 as well, so the problem was mostly solved a bit earlier. Much cleaner solution to listen to the OS though.

Assuming there is a compatibility reason. Also keep in mind, 4.5 was released late 2012 (and support ended at the start of 2016).

This is a bit of a pain for .net devs on 4.5, as it by default has TLS1.2 disabled. You can fix it with System.Net.ServicePointManager.SecurityProtocol = SecurityProtocolType.Tls12 | SecurityProtocolType.Tls11 | SecurityProtocolTy
