If you do a custom install of the driver package you can choose to not install the HD audio component. It has saved me from this exact hassle many times.

I have a Samsung Galaxy phone and there are ads on my home screen. Luckily it's only a work phone that I haven't had to look at in several years. I would never personally buy any product from Samsung at this point.

It seems like the timer starts as soon as the pointer enters the link area. I would be happier if it was 250ms that starts when the pointer stops moving. Either way I love this feature.

Sorry, I meant for the pre-compiled versions on Google Play and the App Store. The vast, vast majority of Whatsapp users aren't going to want to or don't know how to compile the app for their phone.
