Certificate transparency is a permissioned blockchain (a merkle hash tree), ran by a group of trusted organizations and observed by third party monitors ("validators"). Your browser probably queried that blockchain when you opened

Bitcoin is a block-tree as well, you can have diverging branches. It's just that branches are usually very short-lived due to the incentives designed into the system.

Don't enable unattended updates for GitLab. The migrations don't always work and sometimes need manual work. (This is rarely the case, but can happen.) (Also, when upgrading GitLab, make sure to upgrade version-by-version and alwa

Performance is terrible in their cloud offering, but actually pretty OK in the on prem version. Guess which one of those two they're sunsetting...

Yeah, on prem is not affected. But they're discontinuing on prem, making customers even more dependent on their hosted services. Bravo! (My employer will switch away from Atlassian products once they don't offer on prem anymore.)

If you'd actually read the article, you'd see that the problem isn't merged /usr. Other distros moved to merged /usr just fine. Also, the decision to move Debian to merged /usr wasn't done by Poettering, i

Does Gitea support some kind of federation / cross-instance PRs? That's the main thing I'd miss from a self-hosted instance, the ease of getting contributions. After all, you don't even need Gitea for pure Git hosting. I

I don't have any clover here, but lots of flowers. We usually wait with the first cut in spring until the flowers are mostly gone. They displace grass unfortunately, but look very nice, and insects love them. https://i.imgur

As far as I understand it, Taler is not made for person-to-person payments, but for person-to-service-provider payments. The idea of taxability is that the person sending the money (the customer) is anonymous, while the recipient of the mon
