Or by doing the actual medical research that will fix these problems. Seriously, not everything is solved by money - most is fixed by smart people figuring stuff out. If all the smart people spend their time trying to make money, who is goi

That analogy doesn't make sense. We are talking about defaults. If the car was automated, insecure defaults would be a car that automatically drove on the wrong side of the road, but you could change it to drive on the right side of the roa

For web development, the two major haskell frameworks (Yesod and Snap) are both designed with security as a major concern, and in general haskell libraries seem to take this stuff pretty seriously (I guess people who like haskell like safet

You _should_ argue that there ought to be no limit. There is absolutely no reason why there should be a limit below maybe 4k (and even then, I'm not sure. Perhaps some limit if DOS is concern...). The only reason why there are limits now is

Well, not usually in the US. The big internet providers usually section off areas, and they don't compete. So we get the worst of both worlds - a private (ie, unaccountable) monopoly.

Seems like a pretty small sample size - only 100 per state? I'm not familiar with how Craigslist works for this, but is there any reason why you couldn't select thousands and get better results (look for common words, rank them, etc). Seems

I almost always want only one window available (except terminals) - but don't want to have to think how to get to the other ones. When doing web development, I generally have some terminals open, my editor, and my web browser. If I use alt-

That's probably true, but the value that Heroku is selling (and they charge a lot for it!) is that you _don't_ need to deal with this - that they will balance that out for you.

The problem is that if you notice that they are bullshitting you on computers, it makes you wonder how much other stuff is bullshit too, that you might not have the expertise to recognize.

Do you have an explanation for all these examples then (they seem to contradict your statement)? Or have you just worked with really bad customer service teams?

Money laundering is illegal, and it isn't too much of a stretch to imagine the US political system deciding that bitcoin amounts to laundering money.

I think that comment is referring to the framework / server, which is quite fast. Heist is a templating system authored by the same people that was not intended to be fast (though now it is). It is somewhat confusing, but I don't think the
