Which is why "async" is a pox on our house. System threads can and do address these edge issues. User level concurrency generally doesn't (perhaps with the exceptions of golang and erlang).

I've run smaller models (I forget which ones, this was about a year ago) on my laptop just to see what happened. I was quite surprised that I could get it to write simple Python programs. Actually very surprised which led me to re-eval

With a traditional bank you can walk into a branch and explain the situation to a human. I've had to do this several times with my large US bank, one time when traveling but thankfully to a place where they had a branch. In the end thi

I have a personal Wise account as do several family members. I've had a few odd things happen with their debit cards, and actually (eventually received some reasonably sane customer support via email). Otherwise no problems. That said,

Fair point perhaps, although I'd note that I first heard colleagues boasting about how they were having Chat-GPT write all their tests sometime in 2022.

Neither DID nor IPLD have anything to do with cryptocurrency from a technical perspective. At least no more than do X.509 and ssh.

This is funny but also possibly true because: business/MBA types see these outages as a way to prove how critical some services are, leading to investors deciding to load up on the vendor's stock.

Curious: why? Aren't bubbles about people buying some instrument (stock, bond, bitcoin...) with borrowed real money that is not eventually worth as much as they think it is? People buying stablecoins are exchanging presumably not-borro

This is a common bill stuffing scam. After having this same thing happen a few times I now ask at the beginning of the appointment to confirm that it's a wellness visit. Then I ask the provider to tell me if I inadvertently ask a quest

It happens. A friend flew to France to have a tricky heart procedure done. But most people aren't going to have the time or resources to do that.
