I think you shouldn't look at Warhol as some kind of technically superior artist. I like this quote from Robert Rosenblum (an art historian): "Warhol’s art is itself like a March of Time newsreel, an abbreviated visual anthology o

(dB. from Artsy here) I'll find out who owns copyright on that image. My guess is that it was taken by a photographer at Christie's.

More options is good! Centrally storing configuration is always a good idea. Amazon OpsWorks manages configuration centrally via a web-based command and control. Heroku manages configuration centrally via environment and heroku config:add.

It's ridiculously hard to launch a new marketplace. I think it's awesome that we have more API choices. My next big problem is taxes. I wish one of these two could make it a no-brainer for the same market-place scenario (eg. selling a work

I think there's no reason to be afraid of lawsuits and very little evidence to support that you should. If a candidate decides to sue, it's probably because there's actual evidence of discrimination.

I think Google's interviewing process completely ignores someone's background and quickly tries to send you into the kind of Googler they would like you to be and see if you fit. They probably miss on having a diverse engineering force this

The pull model is very hard to implement because the router behaves like a proxy for a much larger set of dynos (think tens of thousands). When you have 10K clients yielding "i'm available" 10 times a second, you have a nightmare, it's not

I believe routing is not random, but round robin. I'd like Heroku to confirm. It's still a problem. If you are looking to run Unicorn on Heroku, use the heroku-forward gem ( https://github.com/dblock/heroku-forward ). Works well, but applic

I have to disagree, somewhat. It's about the person's skills (or lack thereof), not about the person. An insult to the person would be "you're ugly". I can totally see WHY someone can get offended, and I am not saying it's OK to say those t

Maybe it's cultural, but what was ridiculed was the project, not the person. Russians, for example, make a clear distinction between the two, so what the tweets said didn't shock me somehow. I can totally understand how one can take it pers

For historical reasons. We never had a policy around putting everything under github/artsy so it just grew organically this way. While I do think that finding open-source projects sponsored by an organization is cool, their evolution and go

Correct. We don't do any scraping of websites, the works are fully licensed from their rights owners. This part is a huge part of what we do in terms of time and resources.
