I think the market for these types of services is not multi-person dev teams. Instead, this is for your solo freelancer who doesn't want to deal with the hassle of hosting and where git is overkill.

Presumably this email was meant to help change behavior within Microsoft. To give people a guide for how to do their job better. If I were a Microsoft employee I wouldn't know what to make of that quote. It doesn't speak to anythi

Aren't those some of the exact same points that the author was making? "People think that being an extrovert means that you like being around people, and therefore an introvert “ doesn’t like people,” but that’s not true. There’s

Why does google need to penalize sites for spammy inbound links? Couldn't they instead just make those links not contribute at all (not penalize the ranking but not boost it at all either)? I'm sure it's more complicated than this, but I'm

I always had the same hypothesis as to how they were able to find those random connections. Which is why I refuse to give any social network access to my email contact list. For my own privacy and for my contacts privacy.

DevJoist is language agnostic so I think there will be a need for it regardless of what happens with Python. I'm actually a backer of Andrew's kickstarter :)

I'm working on a tool for better schema migrations as well. Currently it only supports MySQL but more RDBMS's coming soon: http://devjoist.com

The code editor is really slick. Did you build it from scratch or is it a library?

Great idea! First time pledging to kickstarter. I think there are a lot of improvements to be made related to database migrations. I built DevJoist (devjoist.com) with a similar goal in mind, but primarily for PHP developers. Multiple peopl

Does your dad do work on commission? I'm working on a website to help artists who do large scale commission artwork get more work. We do screen artists who apply for quality, but if you'd like I'd be happy to show the woman who does the scr

If you have any suggestions for how to solve this problem in a different way I'd love to hear them. I'm struggling with it myself, so if there's an easier way of doing it I'm very interested.

I think the biggest value will be for platforms that don't already have built in migrations, but hope that eventually some of the tools will be a reason to use the tool instead of traditional migrations. The grand vision is that you won't e

Thanks for the question and I don't think it's that your ignorant. It gets kind of confusing unless you've run into some of these problems in the real world. I'll do my best to try and explain the problems that I ran into, which pushed me t

That's a great question. Right now you could include the git version in the comment of your DevJoist commit. In the future we plan to have much better integration with git/GitHub and other commonly used developer services like Heroku. A par
