I always consider myself a techno-optimist for this reason and wish there were more folks who look at the possibilities of tech that way. I’m very happy to see this new solarpunk idea that has aspects of techno-optimism taking ‘root’

I do think we need groups willing to be optimistic about technology. Some of this falls under what I always called techno-optimism, and what I hope to follow in my own vision for the future. Love to see it

I really don't see anyone but the power users being willing to pay. What's that TAM then? There are only around 250k verified users, you can probably use them as a proxy for power users, your pro customers. That doesn't seem

In some ways I don’t care what people do as long as it doesn’t hurt others. I’m just sad to see money that can be used to push tech forward and given to a real project, being given to something so fake. As an aside, since you mentioned it,

What makes you think it’s PMs making architecture decisions? That’s usually the engineers and engineering leaders (as it should be).

Used to love the original Uber. It reduced the complexity of having a car service or to call a proper towncar and still kept good quality and good drivers. UberX is almost as bad quality as normal taxis, just slightly better etiquette in mo

As someone who has been at amazon for a bit and has been a single threaded owner (STO) for a few different things, autonomy and authority part is largely overstated in many orgs. In reality, most groups still have cross-functional overhead
