So, how much time did it take you to get the WiFi stack working on your RasPi? Oh? You've never actually tried to get WiFi working on a Pi? Thought so. Getting WiFi to work on a Pi has historically been an exercise in very, very ca

Well, I think that loosening admission requirements for women at the elite engineering schools is not actually happening. The elite colleges are, however, soaking up all the qualified women. The fact of the matter is that schools like HMC

Excellent questions. First, there is the complexity of setting up a cross-development environment for your chosen controller. Take the 8-bit AVR's as found in Arduino. I was using those before Arduino, and frankly didn't see th

I have some experience using MicroPython on the PyBoard (not the ESP8266). MicroPython is a very nice implementation of Python 3.X. A few differences because of the need to be extremely parsimonious with RAM usage -- mostly only noticed

Well, OK, but usually I want to go the other way. How about something that can take a drawing produced in some sort of reasonable drawing tool and produce ASCII art that I can include in some kind of ASCII-only file (like program source.)

??? Go write Java if you want to write Java. Don't try to write Java with Python syntax. Use Python to write Python. Trying to force the idioms of the programming language you just left onto the programming language you just learned i
