Ha! I came here to say something similar. Here in San Jose, the weather tomorrow will be the same as today, most of the time. My joke when I lived in Minnesota was: "If you don't like the weather, just wait 10 minutes. It wi

In fact that is well known to be a great way to find creative solutions to very difficult problems. Step 1: Work intensely for a long time (days or more) looking for a solution. Step 2) Relax and do something to let the mind wander. If you

Guess what! My wife is a lawyer at Oracle. And she knows. And guess what else? Marketing owns the wording of marketing collateral, and can ignore the advice of the lawyers, and then the lawyers get to clean up the resulting problems.

Here is the thing. The word "partner" is legal velcro. Amazon does not want a judge to determine that you are a PARTNER of Amazon's in the legal sense of the word. Even calling it the "Amazon Partner Network" i

I did a tour of duty as a CPU logic designer at Amdahl. The POO was my bible, although it was the 370 version in those days. The thing to remember about ISA specs like this is that they are works of fiction. The contract goes: “If you progr

The US term you are looking for is “infraction”, which applies to traffic tickets and the like. Felony is overused at the moment, IMHO. Lawmakers that want to appear tough on crime make felonies out of non-violent crimes.

That is a little disingenuous. The whole point of Intel’s compiler is to support Intel chips well. Results on other chips are what they are. No effort to make other chips perform eiher better or worse is expended. Keeping up with Intel chip

The Nat Semi & TI merger is an interesting case. They both had huge numbers of parts in the same categories, but little actual overlap in actual part catalogs. They complemented each other nicely in terms feature-space coverage. At the

I suggest you do the math. My mother was a fanatical gardener and food preserver, so I know full well how much land it takes to grow enough produce to feed a family for a year from a season's frozen/canned produce. I personally
