The authorization happens at the time you request the photo url, not the photo itself. So the security is on finding out what the url is, not the actual photo request. It'd be the same as someone being able to login if they know your passwo

Don't think it's a good idea. OS X works great for all of my development needs, even if the target environment is linux. Also, I tend to believe linux users are especially picky about which distros they prefer.

C'mon, while they have a very good idea in theory, I don't think it could work. The general public is not quite ready. It's too technical to host your own node and there won't be a critical mass who can figure out how.
