There needn't be One Test Suite To Rule Them All. I like having something similar to zombie.js during dev, then Selenium during CI triggered on git push, perhaps with Testswarm scheduled to run daily.

The proposer suggests here http://goo.gl/4P4Wa (slide 39) and here http://goo.gl/p7ReQ that local rebinding violates the expectations of the callee, but it just seems to me to be very unintuitive.

Membership of BNP is incompatible with being a police officer because it's incompatible with the police force's equal opportunities policy. Police officers are contractually obliged to follow the policy. Rightly or wrongly (rightly imo) tha

I was Eric Schmidt, I would be delighted by this article because it's evidence that people no longer treat Google as a search engine that finds relevant webpages, but as an oracle that gives you the best advice and recommendations. And that

That's actually the claim made by the original article. As a commenter there points out, though, if it's harder to resell your old machine you may be less likely to upgrade to a new one. So there is pressure in the other direction. The real

I don't recognise the current Rails codebase from this comment. There's certainly nothing incomprehensible about it if you grok common Ruby metaprogramming idioms. I wish the idea of "Ruby magic" would die in flames!

If you enjoyed this, you should definitely check out http://http://vimcasts.org . I caught Drew's talk at Arrrrcamp on Friday and he is a fantastic explicator. His Vim book for PragProg should be excellent.

Isn't it odd that there is _no_ physical structure between 10^-35 (Planck length) and 10^-24 (neutrino)? That's a massive gap compared to scales larger than the neutrino. Is there are reason?

His distinction is maybe analogous to binary (readable) and source+makefile (writable). Minor point: "text" here covers all sorts of artistic creations (TV, music, fine art), not just the written word.

You're out by a factor of a 10^4. You forgot to divide by 1000 to get KW from W, and you accidentally scaled everything up by 10, too. Still, the correct figure is meaningless too.

I prefer explanatory variable and method names to comments. Comments lie: they cannot be specced or debugged, and few if any developers take responsibility to edit and maintain comments made by others. As a rule of thumb, I comment only whe
