Something like 30% of 30-year-olds still live with their parents. Almost 40% of American adults cannot afford a $400 emergency expense. People are suffering and you're indifferent because you exist in a different class.

Many people use the term "open-source", but this is truly a matter of software freedom. Microsoft won't ever be able to compete with free/libre and self-determination because their business model is predicated upon captu

Oh, you're right, let's just not even try and wallow in self-pity while we continue to be slaves to megacorporations. Or...just choose free software yourself, so that _you_ don't get used by these entities who seek to elimina

Free software (libre -- free as in freedom) is the antidote to this entire mess. We should always choose free software whenever we can, so that we cannot get used by agents of corporate media in their hunt for more loot. https://

That's a pretty lousy take. Obviously, stuff that executes as your user act on your user data. Why would you even have a line of code that you don't trust on your machine? `chown` it if you care that much. Also, to the parent comm

How the heck did this ever make it through? I don't think this ever would have happened pre-OpenZFS, and undermines the stable reputation of ZFS. OpenZFS needs to do better and look to FreeBSD developers, not Linux developers, as role
