PS, If I was Apple I'd be buying this tomorrow, or I'd just amp up development of my own software, probably basing it on the new iAd Developer tools which were recently released.

Congratulations, you are about to be offered a lot of money from a big company. Do you take it? ... Or do you create a new software empire for the creative web development world to rival Adobe but built on open standards?

For those curious, the photo at the top can be seen in San Francisco if you head north-bound on Mission as it turns onto South Van Ness, moments before South Van Ness crosses Market and becomes Van Ness. See for yourself: http://goo.gl/map

Right, which is why I didn't do that (unlike the entire point of the URL in the OP, which does that). I just said that those groups of people don't have hundreds or thousands of machines to manage if they can maintain a custom naming scheme

The people who argue against naming machines in an automated fashion don't have hundreds or thousands to manage. We do something simple: class of machine + number . city. m1.sjc1 == generic machine in san jose m2.sjc1 == another gener

That's it? I'd expect it to be much higher. I wonder what the percentage is in an urban city like San Francisco... 80%?

What does any of this have to do with YCombinator? It sounds like you just needed to hire a customer support rep and scale your organization.

History has always proven my statements to be right. Changing human behavior in such a fundamental way is highly unlikely to happen from some technical limits put up on a website. I don't need to be a part of those sites to know this.

Lots of sites think they need to put up walls to maintain a sense of community. History all across the Internet (and before the Internet) has shown this to be a fallacy. Tragedies of the common are avoided by proper structure and accountabi

Why do you think you need safari or a browser? There are plenty of other (and easier) ways to make HTTP connections in iOS and implement account registration.

So the exclusive community that doesn't allow regular folks in has let in some bad neighbors? Good thing they have kept their walls up... Good lesson there...

Are you kidding? The UDID and the phone owner's name are easily correlated. As soon as you register for an account on a game or app, you will connect UDID to your email or first/last name. As soon as that happens, it could easily end up i

It's entirely fair. If I knew them, I'd keep my mouth shut, because I don't talk negatively about friends. And it's entirely fair because I know what I see. And that's more than enough to gauge their execution.

I made that point, so actually you agree. I also made the point that they've failed to execute so far, which reduces my faith in their ability to all of the sudden start executing well. Perhaps that's what you disagree with? In which case

Unlimited bandwidth is easy to provide. Just rate-limit the port once they exceed a certain amount of bits transferred. They still have unlimited bandwidth, but at 128kbps instead of 128000kbps.
