Assuming the creation of AI went smoothly, virtually all jobs would be obsolete due to AI, society has transitioned to basic income, and I'd be trying to wrap my head around the latest discovery from our AI friends. It'll be like

These kinds of comments tend to derail threads, kronos is a pretty cool project but now 1/4 of the comment section is discussing how 'practical' Haskell is. There are other threads that discuss the merits of Haskell

I think the parent post was inferring the opposite causation, ie, the families that tend to give their children circumcisions tend to be conservative and would probably have a lower hiv infection rate even if they would not have circumcised

Wow sucks to be in the Philippians right now :D I fear that having very localized problems will end up killing the site. Most people can't act on these problems but they are taking up valuable space on the front page.

That wikipedia/peer-review replacement sounds fascinating, can't wait to see what he's come up with.

Why so pessimistic, Think about all the great use cases of this tech eg. When Elon Musk gets his Mars project going these will be invaluable to have on the spaceship. Or imagine a nyc with all buildings below ground, above ground, the entir

I like Ramda as well, currying was a feature I didn't expect to use as often as I did.

I wonder how the atmosphere at yc has changed over the years? I would imagine there to be more competition between groups nowadays as compared to the first few batches.

It's not that humans will program AI's to kill us, but having more influence would probably be a very efficient way of maximizing it's utility function

Hah, imagine a system where processes were placed in an arena and they battle it out for cpu time. Programmers will not only have to build their applications but also write an AI to protect itself, an IDE could be a fortress where processes

Glad you're liking it, as for the bug, you currently can't backspace over different blocks of text, that's probably what you are referring to. This will probably be fixed in upcoming releases.

There's actually 2 dices, so there are quite a few more ways to get a 7 than to get a 2 7 = 1+6, 2+5, 3+4, 4+3, 5+2, 6+1 2 = 1+1, 1+1
