Just one note, once you pause, you apparently cannot pause again until all deferred updates have been installed. So yes it helps, but only for so long. The other deferment options seem like a more reasonable way to just purposely lag behind

For the last 3-4 years I’ve found it far cheaper to walk into a Virgin Mobile store in Canada to grab a pre-paid SIM than using the Apple SIM in my iPad. I worry more about Apple removing the SIM slot leaving me with less choices.

Windows, at least for right now, does not seem to be updating CPU microcode during boot. If you run the PowerShell Get-SpeculationControl script that gives you the status of the updates it states that the CVE-2017-5715 fix requires hardware

I saw the same thing on my Lenovo laptop: installed the Windows update, the PowerShell scripts said it's missing HW support. Installed a new BIOS update from Lenovo (released two weeks ago, btw), now the PS script says I have the neede

On the surface this sounds good until you realize that there is a pretty big group of people that started using iPads, etc. with boating navigation and charting app. Pilots too I think. Used to be you could tell when you had a location fix

Who's liable for when your car is test driven and gets in an accident? Or worst, used in a negligent way. IANAL but I think that car owners can be held responsible for lending a car that is used by a driver that is found to have been n

Nice app. I find the overall color of UI elements to be a little too dark. Right now with a little room light reflections on my iPad I find it hard to see some parts of the UI. The biggest issue I have is, unless it supports CoreMIDI that l

I've used Drive Snapshot for years with great success. XP, Win 7, 2003, 2010, etc. It is my go-to tool when migrating disk images. It handles live snapshots and differential images very well when working with Exchange, etc... http://www.dr

Yeah but the real problem, the ones users are trying to solve is the limits on having to move everything into one sync folder. Transparent symlinks are the cheap fix for them so that they can keep their files where they want and still have

Adobe is moving to a yearly release cycle going forward, with a major/minor tick-tok. They've also made version skipping uneconomical going forward with the elimination of upgrade pricing for all those except the most recent version owners:

Except Adobe killed upgrade pricing if you skip versions now. Only CS5 and 5.5 owners get upgrade pricing for CS6. There is a temporary reprieve for CS 3 & 4 owners until the end of 2012 (they backtracked somewhat after user feedback).
